Local classes

When a teacher or IT Support creates a class directly in Classwize or School Manager, it’s called a Local class.

If your school’s IT allows, you can create and delete Local classes from your Classwize dashboard. In a Local class, you can manage students and teachers, create schedules and invite students to the class using an Invite Code.

CSV classes

Your school’s IT Support may add classes to Classwize using CSV Upload. CSV classes have the same features as Local classes, except you can’t use Invite Codes to invite students to the class or delete the class.

Synced classes

Your school’s IT Support can import and manage classes directly from your school’s Student Information System. Any changes you make to a Synced class will reset when Classwize syncs with School Manager.

Info

To make permanent changes to your Synced classes, contact your school's IT Support team to edit the class in your school’s Student Information System.

Monitor Only Mode

You can use a Monitor Only Mode class to observe student activity discretely. In a Monitoring Class, you can’t use Classwize features that interact with students to ensure they remain unaware they’re being monitored.
