During class, you may notice that specific images or video frames are blurred, or certain webpages appear to be blocked for your students. This occurs because your school uses Content-aware filtering to protect students in real-time. If Content-aware detects a potentially inappropriate image, video or text, it blurs or blocks that specific element.
Before you begin
You must have access to Focus in Classwize.
Immediate fix: Use Focus
If Content-aware is disrupting your class, you can use Focus to override the blurring.
- Go to your active class in Classwize.
- Set a Focus for the resource or website you are using.
Once Focus is active, your teacher-level permissions take priority. The content should unblur immediately for your students.
Important
If the content remains blurred after starting Focus, your school has likely “Locked” the website for safety reasons. In this scenario, Focus can’t override the restriction.
Permanent fix: Contact school IT
If a website that is a key resource for your curriculum is consistently blurred, contact your school’s IT Support to request permanent access.
