This article helps IT Support staff assist Teachers with signing in to Classwize.
Overview of sign-in changes
Classwize uses SSO as the preferred sign-in method to improve security. Username/password sign-in is restricted because it is less secure and available only in specific scenarios.
Key points:
- The public Classwize sign-in page only supports SSO.
- Most Teachers must sign in using their school’s unique Classwize sign in URL.
- Username/password sign-in is controlled by Linewize Support and is typically used only for customers with LDAP authentication or locally created Classwize users.
Teacher sign-in scenarios
- Teachers should always use their school’s unique Classwize sign-in link.
- If a Teacher tries to sign in using the public sign-in page, they may see this message:
This sign in option isn’t available based on the details you’ve provided. Please reach out to your school’s IT support to get your unique Classwize login link.
- When this message appears, give the Teacher their school’s unique sign-in link.
Manage unique Classwize sign-in links
To find your school’s unique Classwize sign-in URL:
- In Linewize Filter, go to Configuration > Classwize.
- The URL appears at the top of the page.
Encourage Teachers to bookmark the link so they can access it directly next time.
Troubleshoot and escalate
When a Teacher reports a sign-in issue:
- Confirm they’re using the school’s unique sign-in link.
- Check SSO configuration if your school uses Google, Microsoft or ClassLink.
- Confirm whether Username/password sign-in is expected for your school’s Classwize setup.
- Raise with Linewize Support if the issues continue.
