Pause Internet access for multiple students

You can temporarily stop one or more students from accessing the Internet. When you pause Internet access, the Internet Paused banner will show in the student tiles, and the student will see a Block page.

Before you begin

Pause Internet overrides Focus for a student’s internet access. Paused students are refocused when unpaused.

Pause students from Class Tools

  1. In an active Classroom Manager classroom, select Class Tools > Pause Internet.

  2. Select All students or the student checkboxes.

  3. Select Pause.

Pause selected students from the floating toolbar

  1. In an active Classroom Manager classroom, select the student tiles:

    • Checkbox: select the checkbox on each student tile.

    • Click and drag: click and drag across the student tiles you want.

  2. In the floating toolbar, select Pause.

    • The toolbar shows how many students you've selected.

  3. Select Pause X students.

End Pause for multiple students

When you end the pause, the Internet Paused banner will disappear, and the student can access the Internet again.

  • To unpause the internet for all students, select End Pause on the Classroom toolbar.

  • To unpause a group of students, select their student tiles, then select Pause, then End Pause for X students in the floating toolbar.

  • To unpause specific students, select the Pause icon in their student tile.
