You can use the Class-Ready YouTube feature to minimise distractions by opening YouTube videos in full screen.
Before you begin
- You must have access to Open Tab in Classwize.
Full-Screen Mode Overview
When students view YouTube videos in full screen:
- Suggested video thumbnails and links will be hidden while the video is playing
- Students can’t see or post comments
- Students can’t like or dislike YouTube videos
- Settings for autoplay, viewing options, download, clip, save to playlist, report, and transcript will be hidden.
Students can still turn on subtitles, pause, play, rewind or fast-forward the video, and adjust the video’s volume.

Troubleshooting
"This video is private" error
Class Ready YouTube will not show private YouTube videos. Publishers have to invite users by email to view videos they have set to private, or change the video to public or unlisted.
"Video unavailable" error
This message means the video's publisher does not allow their videos to be shared on other pages.
To make the video visible to your students:
- Toggle off Open in Full-Screen Mode, then select Open Tab. OR
- Ask your student to refresh their tab or select Watch on YouTube. If they select Watch on YouTube, the video will be in standard view on YouTube.
