You can temporarily claim students in Classroom Manager to manage their behavior or for administrative interventions without permanently interrupting another teacher’s class settings.
Before you begin
You must have access to:
Create a Teaching Mode class.
Claim students for Intervention
To temporarily claim and manage a student:
Create a Teaching Mode class.
Select Start Class to begin monitoring students.
Select Claim Student for the student you want to claim.
Apply the required behavior management or administrative intervention.
When the intervention is complete, select Switch to monitor only.
Continue monitoring the class as needed.
Once the student is switched to monitor only, control returns to the previous teacher.
Tip
If your school uses Classroom Manager classes primarily to apply additional filtering restrictions, consider moving these restrictions into Linewize Filter policies instead. This provides a more consistent long-term approach and avoids management conflicts between instructional and support classes.
