Take a screenshot of a student's screen

This article is for Teachers.

Important

If you see the message “Screenshots and Live view disabled for this site”, the website is restricted from screen view.

You can take a time-stamped screenshot of a student’s screen from Live View and download it as a PDF. The screenshot will show what is currently on the student’s screen, not any background tabs or windows.

Tip

You can create a Screenshot History Report to download screenshots of a student’s browsing history during class.

Each screenshot file includes:

  1. Name or email address of the student.
  2. Name of the School Manager device.
  3. URL of the website the student was browsing (Chrome only).
  4. The screenshot of the student's screen (Windows or macOS) or browser (Chrome).
  5. Screenshot details:
    • Date and time the screenshot was taken.
    • Student's device type and identifier.
    • Name of the class.
    • Email address of the teacher who took the screenshot.

To take a screenshot of a student’s screen:

  1. In an active class, find the student and select their Student Tile.
  2. Select SCREENSHOT, then select Accept and download screenshot (this prompt appears only once per day).
