Open a webpage for students during class

The Open Tab tool in Classwize lets you quickly direct the entire class or individual students to a specific webpage in a new browser window or tab. You can use Open Tab with a YouTube link to open the video in full-screen without ads.

Before you begin

• You must have access to Open Tab in Classwize.

Use Open Tab

You can Open Tab for all students or a specific student. If you need to restrict students’ internet access to a set of approved resources, use the Focus tool.

Open Tab for all students

1. In an active class, select Open Tab from the Class Tools menu.
2. In the Website URL field, enter the webpage address.
3. Select Open Site.
   Note
   Students can close the tab or go to a different website.

Open Tab for a specific student

1. In an active class, find the specific student tile and select the Open Tab (browser tab icon).
2. In the Website URL field, enter the webpage address.
3. Select Open Site.
