Ending or Extending Classwize Sessions

A scheduled session is created in advance of a class by using the Add schedule feature on your Class Settings.

Scheduling a class means that the selected class will automatically start and stop on the same day(s), at the same time(s), until you change its schedule. For example, if you schedule a session for Monday from 08:00 AM to 09:30 AM, your class will run every Monday during that time. Once a scheduled class has started, you can’t change its end-time or end it early.

Changing a scheduled session

You can’t change a scheduled session once it has started. If you select the In session until button on the Classroom page while the class is in session, a prompt will appear on your screen, telling you that scheduled sessions can’t be edited.

However, you still modify future scheduled sessions in the Class Settings:

1. On the My Classes page, select the Class Settings icon on the relevant class tile.
2. On the Class Settings dialog, select the SCHEDULING tab.
3. To edit your next scheduled classes you can:
   
   1. delete a schedule by selecting the red cross next to it, or
   2. select a new Start Time, or
   3. select a new End Time.

Starting an Unscheduled Session

Unscheduled sessions are classes that run only once and end at the time that you set. To start an unscheduled class session:

1. On the My classes dashboard, select the SELECT CLASS button for the relevant class.
2. On the Classroom page, select START CLASS.
3. On the Start Classwize session dialog, select the session’s End time.
   Note: End times are in 5-minute increments.
4. Select START. The session will start immediately.
5. Close the dialog.

Changing an Unscheduled Session

You can change an unscheduled session’s duration even when it has started by ending them early or making them run longer.

1. On the Class Toolbar, select the In session until button. The Edit Classwize session dialog will appear.
2. Select the new time from the In session until dropdown.
3. Select SAVE.

Troubleshooting

I can't edit multiple classes at once

There is no bulk edit feature for multiple classes. You will need to schedule sessions for each class individually. However, you can schedule multiple sessions for a single class at once.

I got an "Unable to add schedule due to time restrictions set by your school" error

Your school or school district has set limits on when teachers can schedule classes, usually to make sure classes aren't scheduled outside of school hours. If you keep getting this error, please contact your local IT support.
