You can use Tab Limit to help manage student online activity and prevent students from opening too many tabs, which can make it harder to monitor their online activity during lessons.
Before you begin
- You must have access to Tab Limit in Classwize.
- Students must use a Chromebook or a Windows device in Companion Mode.
- Students must have Linewize Connect for Chrome 3.7.5 or later installed and active on their device.
- Students must use a Supported browser (Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge) for the limit to be enforced.
Set a Tab Limit
Note
Let your students know to keep important tabs on the right, as tabs from the left are prioritised for closure if the limit is exceeded.
- In an active Classwize class, go to Class Tools > Tab Limit.
- The Tab Limit window will appear. Enter a number or use the + (plus) and - (minus) buttons to set the Maximum Tabs Allowed.
Note
- You can set the limit between 1 and 10 tabs.
- If there is a conflict with an active Focus, a warning will appear indicating that you’ll need to increase your tab limit.
- Select Apply Limit.
You will see a Tab Limit module that displays Tab Limit: X.
