You can lock students to specific webpages during class, making it ideal for reading assignments, online tests, or quizzes.
Before you begin
- You must have access to Focus in Classwize.
- Your students must be using Chromebooks or Windows devices in Companion mode.
Lock students to a page
You can’t use Lock to page on a domain such as https://www.si.edu or https://www.wikipedia.org. You must use a full URL, such as http://si.edu/newsdesk/snapshot/wright-brothers-flight or http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_brothers.
- On the Classwize Dashboard, select a class.
- On the Classroom toolbar, select Class Tools > Focus.
- Select Create Focus.
- (Optional) Select Save this Focus to my Library.
- Enter a Name.
- In the Resources box, paste the full URL of a webpage you want your students to focus on. Repeat this to add multiple resources.
- Select the Lock to page toggle.
- Select Students, then select the All students checkbox or choose the students you want the Focus to apply to.
- Select Apply Focus.
