The Announcement tool lets you send one-way messages to all students, a group of students, or a specific student in your class to share updates, instructions, or reminders.
Before you begin
You must have access to Announcements in Classroom Manager.
Send an announcement to all students
Steps to send an announcement to all students during class:
In an active class, select Class Tools, then select Announcement.
In the Send a class announcement window, enter your message.
Select Send.
Send an announcement to selected students
Use the floating toolbar to send an announcement to a group of students, such as one learning group.

In an active class, select the student tiles:
Checkbox: select the checkbox on each student tile.
Click and drag: click and drag across the student tiles you want.
In the floating toolbar, select Announcement.
In the Send an announcement to X students window, enter your message.
Select Send.
Tip
Place each group's student tiles together using a custom view, so you can select the whole group in one drag.
Send an announcement to a specific student
You can send an announcement to a specific student from their student tile or from Live View.

From the student tile:
In an active class, on the specific student tile, select the Announcement (megaphone) icon.
In the Send message to window, enter your message.
Select Send.

From Live View:
In an active class, select the thumbnail on the student tile to open Live View.
In the top-right corner of the [Student name]'s Screen window, select Send message.
In the Send message to [Student name] window, enter your message.
Select Send.
What students see
Depending on your student’s device or browser:
Chromebook devices
The message appears at the top of the active Chrome window and stays visible until the student closes it or switches tabs. Multiple messages display in the order sent.Other devices and browsers, including Companion Mode
The message appears as a pop-up in the centre of the student's screen and remains until the student selects OK.
