Once you create a class rule, you can only edit whether the content is Allowed or Blocked and to whom the rule applies. To change the Category, Signature, or Website, delete the rule and create a new one.
Important
If you only see the Blocked option, your school has configured Block only mode for Classwize. Contact your IT Support if you need to allow content for your students during your class session.
Change or Delete an existing rule
- Sign in to Classwize.
- Select the Class for which you want to edit the rules.
- Select Rules to open the Class Rules menu. The Rules button will show a number on the button depending on how many rules you have in the class.
- Find the rule you want to update then select the Blocked or Allowed toggle to change the rule quickly OR select the Edit (pencil) button to open the Edit class rule window.
- Clear the Whole class checkbox and type to search for a student, then select the student from the dropdown menu.
- Select Update to save your changes.

Delete an existing rule
To delete an existing class rule, follow the steps above to open the Edit class rule window, then select Delete Rule.
Delete all existing rules
- Sign in to Classwize.
- Select the Class for which you want to edit the rules.
- Select Rules to open the Class Rules menu.
- Select Delete All to delete all the existing class rules.
