This article is for Teachers.
If a Block rule isn't working during a Classwize session, it may be due to:
- Conflicting rules within Classwize. Review your Classwize Rules.
- Your school has a Locked Allow policy in place using an Object Pool. Contact your school’s IT Support.
Review your Classwize Rules
In this example, some students can access YouTube even though the teacher has blocked it. This can happen if the following rules are in place within Classwize:
- YouTube is Blocked for the whole class.
- YouTube is Allowed for specific students.
To fix this:
- Sign in to Classwize.
- Select the Class that contains the conflicting rules.
- Select Rules to open the Class Rules menu.
- Find the two conflicting rules and delete the Allow rule. In this example, select the edit icon for YouTube is Allowed and select Delete Rule.
Contact your school’s IT Support
Normally, if the rule you’re adding conflicts with a Locked Policy, you will receive a prompt that you can’t create the new rule. However, if your school has created an Object Pool and uses it as an allow list for a Locked Allow policy, Classwize won’t show this prompt. Contact your school’s IT Support to fix this issue.
